Trauma, Abuse, and PTSD

Do you constantly feel jumpy and easily startled?

Do you feel like you can't relax?

Do you have recurring nightmares or difficulty sleeping?

Do you feel triggered by certain memories and/or situations?

Do you feel disconnected from other people?

If you are a survivor of ongoing abuse, trauma, or even just a single traumatic event, equine assisted counseling can help. By working with a horse of your choosing, you will have the opportunity to process and move past traumatic experiences. Your relationship with your horse will provide a safe space for you to gain a sense of peace. In your interaction with the horse, the animal will provide authentic and nonjudgmental feedback to enable you to gain awareness and move past your traumatic experiences. Some of the benefits of equine assisted counseling may include:

*Becoming more assertive and learning to set boundaries
*Becoming aware of your triggers  and how to de-escalate
*Learning to live in the present and to relax
*Feeling more calm and at ease overall
*Experiencing more satisfying and fulfilling personal relationships
*Finding meaning in your traumatic experience and moving forward with your life
